I feel that it's way to commercialized.

Why, exactly, is it just one day? Doesn't it make more sense to show how much you love someone every day?

^I've always had this same sentiment about Mothers' day and Fathers' day.^

Didn't care much about it either way when I've been single aside its nice to get candy or a nice little card from family...but if in a relationship I think its cool to do something to celebrate a bit, good excuse to go and have a couple brews.

I was tentatively planning on going to an EDM party tonight, buuut I've been home sick the last few days (getting better) and so no party time for me this weekend. Ah well. Missed a couple days of work so far & shouldn't really go burn money anyways I guess. Hopefully well enough to go back to work Monday.. but I don't want to make anyone else sick, and also I need to be feeling strong enough to work as if I'm weak it could be dangerous considering I've been harnessed to 3rd/4th storey rooftops for the last couple weeks. Meh, such is life, I'll heal up and carry on.

At least I had the foresight to buy some chocolates for the little ones before I got sick so someone else can hand them out & they can have their treats.

One thing I haven't done this year is made a valentines card for one of my friends that I've made a v-day card for for each of the last 3 years. Maybe I'll graphics one up this weekend still and get it printed off before I see him next - tradition & friendly love and all.

now it is just background noise to me, but it used to depress the shot out of me.

Me parents sent a card & $50 check for me & my girlfriend to share so that's nice.

That is nice of your parents to think of you two & send you "date money" for Valentine's day.

And thanks! I'm already feeling better today than yesterday and MUCH better than Thursday when I was soooo dead I literally only left my bed to go pee I was so weak. As strong as I've gotten, when I do get sick (rarely these days) I get hit pretty hard and knocked right out of life for a bit. But I do believe it doesn't last nearly as long as it would if I didn't keep myself in such good physical shape. Thankfully my recovery time is pretty quick! If I continue to heal at this pace I should be OK enough to go back to work Monday.

I think it's a day to make money for jewelry & flowers stores.

Don't forget about the candy & stuffed things like bears

if it were banned it would not bother me one iota.
