It's soooooooo hard to answer that one. Probably my favorite three would be the

1) Tripod sounds from War Of the worlds
2) Solid Rocket Boosters
3) The blair witch sound effect of sticks and tree branches being crushed in the distance.

What are your favorite three that you can't live without?

The satisfying crunch of autumn leaves (awesome on a bike, lol!), the sound of a flowing stream and the wind as it blows through the trees!

@LaetiBlabla said, "maybe 3rd would be silence then?"

I love that sound! At work I'll often throw on a pair of over-the-ear head phones and listen to my "silence" album when recorded music or environmental sounds are just too much outside stimulation. Every once in a while someone notices that the headphone plug is just hanging loose...

Silence is my number 1, for sure.
No2: The sound of a cat purring.
No3: Birdsong - my favourite is the skylark.

There is a business class turboprop airplane that often flies overhead to our larger regional airport that is well known for having propellers designed to create a square wave sound. Apparently it was designed by Ferrari and so it just had to have a distinctive sound, because the big ferrari crest on the tail, twin push props and a CANARD weren't attention getting enough...

...I just looked it up, it's apparently called a 'P.180' by Piaggio (any airplane buffs / special interests out there to confirm, please) ?
