I notice a lot of people seem pretty concerned about the height of the person they're dating. A lot of people seem to be concerned with male height being greater than female height, and get uncomfortable when that's not the case. I get that some people would find specific traits attractive in others, height or lack of it being one of them, but this seems more like a really widespread cultural thing. Personally I wouldn't mind dating a girl taller than me, I'm sure it would actually be cool in a way, and it certainly wouldn't disturb me.

Maybe the problem is shorter guys just get self conscious about being short and that became a thing where if a guy is shorter than a girl it's awkward. It's probably just because females are generally not as tall as males and that became a normal expectation.

Height is of a concern to me for one particular reason. I am so damn tall (6'-4.5") that in all honesty I wouldn't mind a woman taller than me at all, since that is whatever to me, tall people need to stick together XD (Women over my height are particularly rare anyways). Too short however is a thing, I don't want to injure myself or a prospective partner, so low end of the 5' mark is iffy territory (still won't rule it out as a nope, just iffy). For me it is practicality/health/safety involved.

6'4.5" is pretty tall. I'm about 5'11.5" which is a little tall I think but still not really unusual, apparently that is supposed to be an "ideal height" for males. Apparently only about 5% of women are taller than that too.

I wouldn't date a guy too close to my height, and definitely not shorter. If we decided to have children, they'd likely be extremely short.

I'm close to 5 foot 5. After a certain age, women tended to care less about my height. When you're kissing in bed, you are both the same height.

I'm a girl and nearly 6". I'm fine with my BF being shorter than me because, well, pretty much everybody is shorter than me.

I'm 6'2 and I have never been concerned about height, I find tall and short women to be equally attractive. Women seem more concerned about height as they comment that I am tall although I would class my height as average in Western European countries.

It is more important for a man to be tall, a short woman can be as just as successful in dating as a tall woman.

No matter what we talk about this subject, nothing will change.

Nocturnus is right to say that women are more concerned about height than men

6 foot 2 is definitely taller than average in the US. Most guys I see are between 5 foot 8 and 6 foot.

So a relationship between tall woman and short man must be "Complicated", not normal.

^^^ Now that's just silly. It is not difficult to find a 30" inseam for guys.

I don't care how tall or short a guy is, but if I can beat him at arm wrestling--game over. :P

I'm a 28 inseam; that's difficult to find!

30 is very common.
