Our counselor is helping with my
steady or zero talking.

Over a long brake I've had to make too many amends at home.

Any suggestions on putting a brake on thoughts to vocalizing.

The Dr. Is still on Level 1. 8)

If I'm reading your post correctly, you are talking about verbal stimming, yes?

If so - and if it is due to needing to have your mouth do something - sometimes it can be distracted or otherwise satiated by chewing or playing with an oral chew-toy. If it is sound-stimming it's sometimes possible to learn to satiate it with humming or singing somewhat quietly to yourself for those times when it's not socially acceptable to constantly speak out loud. But beware that any time you distract or side-shift stimming, it may build up. You may need time afterwards when you can stim to your heart (or ears or mouths) content.

But really, at home unless you are so loud you are disturbing others, why is it a problem?

I'm not sure what to call it.
It is words and sentences, stream of conscious writing, but it is yes out loud.
My wife says she is able to filter out much of it after years with me.

I'm guessing my memory on these is longer than hers.
My memory works for good or evil.
It also is my enemy of watching reruns even those seen 55 years ago. :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
