Tiffany. I'm glad my name is Shelby, because my name is unisex.

At first I thought that said "Peony," which would be a pretty name.

I was almost named Richard but my father named me after a mythological beast like a lion that is very placid and laid back unless it is annoyed in which case it becomes extremely ferocious.

I am named Richard.

I was nearly called Mark, but my surname is McCarthy and it was decided that the alliteration of 'Mark McCarthy' reminded my Mum too much of Ronald Reagan, so I was changed to a Richard.

If I was to be a girl I was to be called Kathryn, and when my sister came along five years later she was given that name instead.

Nope. Mum just named me Ashleigh.

Aparently my mother expected me to be a girl (there are a lot of boys in my family so she thought it was time for a girl) and I would have been Elizabeth.

I always wished I was named Alexander.

My parents had arguments when I was five over the proper spelling of Elizabeth (it's my middle name). My mother insisted it was spelled Elisabeth, but my father wanted Elizabeth. They chose the "z" version after awhile.

A Peony is a flower (like Rose, Petunia, Heather, Violet, ect). It can be an actual name too.

What do they call this on your continent?

Peony is the national flower of China and is associated i think with health.

My sister is called Barbara.

If I was a boy I would have been called Kenneth.

Thank goodness I'm a girl.
