This really makes me wonder about my country...

Firstly, the stripper in Scotland...

Police stripper

The quote that gets me in this is "They (the police) followed me into the bar, watched the show, then asked me to go back to the station."

Then theres this...

'Drugs' raid

Considering how much evidence has to be had before a raid can take place, it makes you wonder who they were employing that could get this mixed up. Maybe dawn was a little early for them to be completely awake...

At least they know about George W. Bush and the Virginia Tech shooting.

Slightly unsure of the relevance there?

I was watching the BBC World News on BBC America, and that was the top story!

Er... yes?

BBC World is aimed at a very different market from the British news channels (including BBC News 24) and so doesn't cover things from a UK perspective. I've been abroad several times and had BBC World and found nothing of interests. It's certainly not like you can just see what's going on back home. For that, my friend, you need Sky News, the Internet, or, if you're near enough to the UK (say, within most of Europe) get yourself a big Sky dish and point it towards Britain.

Oh, and as regards the stripper: a lot of Scottish people have a tendency towards religion-fuelled social conservatism and disapprove of nudity and the like.

That's what I get for leaving my TV on BBC America after The Weakest Link!

My award for daft news of the week has to be the story of the two young girls in wales who were fined for doing chalk drawings outside their house on the pavement .
I never realised rainbows and stars could be so offensive , but I am happy that the crime rate in Wales is so low that police have time to wander about giving on the spot fines to teenage girls drawing harmless pictures in chalk.
