How do you deal with pain?

I'm not good at it. Especially surprise pain.

Autistic people commonly either have a low or high pain tolerance. It's more common for autistic people to be less sensitive to pain, but I have an incredibly low pain tolerance. There was one time when I was getting a cavity filled, and the dentist gave me the maximum safe dose of Novocaine, but it still hurt.

I put up with it when it's minor but I'll take pain medication when it gets worse.
