I still need it defined for me. I was even told someone in that Mozart and the Whale did it all the time, but I didn't notice it.

My hands often flap in some form in involuntary tic movement as I hold them behind my back they kind of flap a lot like a tail wagging. I also flap my hands in front of me when I feel really happy. Especially when I am laughing. They remind me of pair of wet long Johns flapping on the clothes line in a strong wind.

Actually, I've been realizing since the subject has come up...that I do it a lot more than I thought I did. I just don't usually notice it. Creepy...I AM POSSESSED!

Okay, I sort of understand. I don't really think I do that, at least not much. I got caught doing it (or something similar) recently though...so maybe I do occasionally do it if I'm excited.

I often do similar things like this boy with my hands But I flap my hands only forth and back and much faster - such a fluttering movement like butterfly's wings'.

Yes, I do.
As for how to control it, I have no idea... it (and all of my other stims) starts by itself, and it takes a couple of seconds for me to register that it's happening. I can suppress it, but it is uncomfortable and starts again as soon as I stop focusing on stopping it.

I handflap hehe. I saw a tshirt once, i wanted to pick up, it said "if your happy and your know it, FLAP YOUR HANDS!" I so wanted to buy it, next time i see it, i think i'm going to pick it up hehe.
