NC Tow Trucker refuses service to a Sanders supporter...

An NC Tow Trucker (owner of the company) near Ashville NC, refused to tow a young woman's car over her being a Sanders supporter (She had Sanders stickers on her car).

He refuse her service on the grounds of conservative values, telling her he doesn't support any "socialists".
He told her to "call the government for help!"

He also defended himself to the press, claiming his conservative values are derived from the bible and it would be a violation of his religious rights to help socialists.

He is one of a growing number of many business owners nationally who are refusing service to people for supporting Bernie Sanders and other socialists.

So don't be surprised if you are a Sanders supporter and are refused service because of it.

fine they can lose money than...I am sure sanders supporters can find other businesses willing to take our money if some businesses ran by right wing religious fanatics want to be so petty. That said this so far is the only incident thus far I have heard of a business not wanting money from a Sanders supporter who requests services of that business. I do hope the young woman found someone else to tow her vehicle in a timely manner though.

It's not just conservatives refusing service on ideological grounds.
A lot of Americans fear socialism and will respond accordingly.
Reddit has been complaining about it for awhile in the anti-Hillary threads (Reddit is almost all pro Sanders).

Each group is known for stuff (even if wildly over exaggerated to effect).


Hillary supporters are accused of hating men and hurting children.
Sanders supporters are accused of being racist and sexist in order to stop women and minorities from voting for Hillary (she does do better with both group than Sanders).
Trump and conservatives are known to refuse service to people are openly opposed and/or criticize their values.

We have reports of all three sets of supporters doing stuff to people they feel are hurting their candidate's chance of winning and people who don't share their values.

A few bits of info missing, but gleaned by reading a number of reports on the story:

His initial response:

"Something came over me, I think the Lord came to me, and He just said, ‘Get in the truck and leave,’” Shupe said. “And when I got in my truck, you know, I was so proud, because I felt like I finally drew a line in the sand and stood up for what I believed.”

I'm thinking after the first few reports of this story were posted, someone called him up and reminded him that he can't refuse public accommodations on the basis of religion (ie her being of a different set of beliefs than his). Soon thereafter, his story appears to have changed somewhat to the refusal being based on her being a "socialist" and how socialist don't pay their bills. Just my guess, based on the timing & his shift in reasoning.

Oh, also? The woman he left stranded is disabled.

... funny thing is... The tow trucker has probably already assisted plenty of Bernie Sanders supporters (perhaps even hundreds) without knowing it, simply because they didn't put a sticker on the bumper...

So how does he know that he hasn't already violated his religious/conservative values countless times?

Right. Well .. I think he just hates Sanders .... and has convinced himself that Sanders supporters expect ....

If that tow truck driver believes helping a Sanders' supporter in need violates his Christian beliefs, then he definitely doesn't know what real Christianity teaches.

That can be said for all American "Christian" (I don't even consider them to be Christian to be honest) branches.

The message for them is so distorted now and hate filled, which this incident shows.

I don't know; I fancy myself a Christian (a Lutheran and mainline Protestant, to be exact), and I'm hardly motivated by hate. I think you have to consider where the incident occurred: North Carolina, a state inundated with fundamentalist theology.

Yeah, the best current excuse to treat people you hate like sh*t.

That sign does sum up Sanders Supporters.

When polled and interviewed Sanders supporters say they are voting for him because they want Free College Tuition and Free Healthcare.
The sign isn't wrong.

Working class people work because they wanna get paid and make a living!! !
They don't wanna see higher taxes just because someone doesn't want to do the same.
