Silly things we do....
My brain sometimes switched topics quickly.
This causes different responses.
Talking with another Aspie - I apologized for the change
His response I can keep up with you Mr. Laugh
My wife used to pause our conversations. She would ask me to rewind and explain the path in my brain from point A....B....C...to....449

The lipstick taser came from 'Despicable Me 2'.

Sewiously I haven't seen despicable me.
Norm Crosby was one comedian of the past that used malapropism.
Even at 6 or 7 I could know he was not talking correctly. It just took forever to get the humour. Now, I love malapropisms and made up words.
And, have you been wabbit hunting watewy?

I do the same thing. It's one of the weird deficits in myself. I don;t attribute that to Asperger's though. Well, maybe, I dunno. But, some things just slide right by me. I feel like 'Peanut' many times: nnnnNNNNNNNYYYOOOWwwwwwwww
It's usually the simple things too LOL
Here's the funny thing about my reasoning skills:
You know the old joke:
What's the difference in a snowman and snowwoman?
Snowballs!
Now, the first time I heard it, I went visual on it. I saw a snowman and snowwoman side by side. I could only see that she would have had breasts. Then that would be made by snowballs. So, I answered, 'snowballs'.
It never occurred to me otherwise because snowmen don't have legs and therefore no 'danglies'. I got it right, for the wrong reasons.
I'm so weird. And, when I was 17 - 19 my nickname was mork because of the weird associations I make sometimes. Well, that and many times, my speech is lifted from many, many TV and movie references. I've been told that I seem to be disassociative in my conversation, while still holding a thread of context.

Makes sense or balls to me.
I've was accused of copying "Morks" suspenders even though I was wearing them before the show vegan oops meant to write began.
I work with teens and my references to old Pop figures lead to blank stares at times.
Off topic I smiled during an electric jam when a teen ala Hendrix did a guitar riff with his teeth.

I actually have to explain what a test pattern was and that TV started and stopped daily...no 24 hours and you were lucky to get the three mains let alone independent stations. Giant TV aerials...LOL We had a 100 foot high antennae with a rotor to aim it as you changed stations. LOL
It was different, but not as easy or 'good' as people want to make it out to be.

In the early 70's friends and I recited Firesign Theater bits.
We even used them at "Family Night" at YMCA summer camps.
These days I have one friend that still can keep up with me on Firesign references.
That us funny when matched up with me asking my wife what she said 2 minutes ago.

Hahahahaha....the guys I hung around with all did George Carlin and that type of bits. I think Firesign was a bit ahead of me at that time. Although, I did like their bit about Mr. Rogers. Eventually, I migrated to the Monty Python type of humour as I got older.
And yeah, my short term sucks too.
