I can't help it. I've have low self esteem since I was 13, maybe longer. I was teased alot as a child and teen. When ever my parents punished me for my actions, it made my self esteem go even lower. Even as a 32 year adult, I've had rejection with trying to get into college and I have been rejected three times so I gave up. I've also given up on self esteem. Is that ok?

I don't know, does it seem OK to you? It certainly awful to get teased and criticized all the time, and I think that the only way to undo that decrease in self-esteem is to find things that you are good at, or improve on things that you're not. For me, it's all about small successes showing me that yes, I'm a good person. What do you think?

Maybe it would help to find a hobby or special interest that you enjoy? I've found that I'm really good at both gardening and cooking. Over time I've gained the strength and conditioning to do a lot of garden chores that are hard for the average person.
