Man, I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but does anyone know how to survive in oppressive heat? I mean, it's been unusually cold where I am for the last few months, but I'm heading to Portland this weekend where the forecast says it could be 88 to 96 degrees. Just, does anyone know, I've just adapted to cold, and can't adjust to thinking about heat without some fear and such.

I'm from Louisiana & the temp there is usually over 90 most of the summer. Most all the houses & businesses have central air-conditioning. I would spend alot of time inside & not really spend much time outside till the evening. I live in Vermont now & the temp here has been in the upper 80s for the last few days at least. We don't have our window AC installed yet. I have the fans on & I've been drinking plenty of water & not wearing a shirt inside. I went walking one of the days & got alittle sunburt so I would suggest wearing sunscreen if you'll be in the sun for a while.
