Its usually described in turms of heat, and not "pressure".

"His eyes burned into me" folks say about the experience of being stared at ( when you can see the staring person,or not).

am not aware of the feeling of being stared at but I surely was the recipient of mass hatred when I was in the army. nothing like the hot silence of being in a workplace where all the others wish that one was not there with them.

Its good that you have done that experiment: staring at folks from behind to see if they know it (apparently they do in only seconds).

I wonder if any psychologist has done experiments to test if folks can sense staring.

it is not possible to be aware of being unaware of being stared at, because in order to know that, one must know that they are being stared at in order to be aware that they are unaware of being stared at.......pfffftzzzzz (circuit blown)

back in college abnormal psych class, 1980, volunteered for test/experiment to see if I could tell if somebody was observing me on other side of trick room mirror with hidden room behind it, I failed test, I guessed that there were and there were not. the rest of the volunteers passed. don't remember the exact number of volunteers or the reason for the test. in other situations in my life since then I entered rooms not knowing there were other people in there [lights were off] until I heard somebody say "who is that?" which made me jump out of my skin in surprise/terror.

Question is redundant.

No one is aware of being stared at with no other clues. Rupert Sheldrake is mistaken. It's pseudoscience nonsense.
