I feel sick and excited. He is really cute. I haven't been on an date in about fifteen years.

My fwb and I have been drifting apart of late which is fine with me. I don't know if I'm maturing and he isn't or if he is getting stupider, but yesterday I decided to bite the bullet and join (pay for) a decent online dating site.

***
I know. Women have it easier when it comes to getting online dates. I concede the point.

So we're meeting tomorrow at the coffee shop in the bookstore and I am actually nervous; like I have to give a speech or something.
I have already been honest about being on disability, but not clear about the reason (ie, I have not told him I'm on the spectrum.)
He is really cute. I am really fearing that he will reject me; so I am trying not to take it too seriously, but I still feel sick.

Excellent, Ann!

For some reason, I get the impression that he's younger than you. I don't think that's bad. When I was younger, I liked older women.

I hope you have a lovely time tomorrow. And I hope the weather's nice, too.

It's been so hot ... and no rain for days. The grass is brown and the vegetables are wilting.

He is a few years younger but within five years. He is ex-military.

We're relatively cool in NYC. I don't think it made it to 28 Celsius even.

I hope you have a good time.

And I hope that he'll be an attentive lover.

Thank you.

When I think about it I have only been on a few dates in my entire life. Usually I've just have sex with someone I already know. I have absolutely no idea of the etiquette. Especially for online. I suppose it varies from person to person. I feel sick.

Talking about families is always safe.

You had a sad history, but an interesting history. You can probably talk about that for hours.

Just don't let him try something if you don't feel it.

He has kids.

I'm fine with that. I'm a step daughter and I've been a step girlfriend to three kids back in the '90s. The main thing any step parent should do is to stay out of the parent child relationship.

I had a virtual stepfather, too. My mother's boyfriend became a "male figure" in my life in my teens.

Not looking to rain on your parade but if I was you'd take this one step at a time.

First off, wait to see that he actually turns up and doesn't stand you up or blow you off at the last minute.

Second, wait to see if he actually is the person in the pictures and that they're recent.

Third, wait to see if he actually is who he says he is. Dating sites and "ex-military" go together like petrol and matches, it's one of the most common avenues for scamming.

Hopefully it all turns out fine, but don't get ahead of yourself, keep sensible.

Yes, you are right. Already he has asked to reschedule the time tomorrow and has not gotten back to me regarding a new one.

Oh well, I've got three months.

His wife probably found it out and scared him.
