Yes I do get forgetful but I try to remember to do things. I sometimes think my memory is going bad because I used to remember better. For one if I had been somewhere, I cannot remember where it is if I hadn't been there in a while. I have to remember where to park and where to walk and what building it is or what route to take and how to get there. I also cannot be taught how to do something and then expected to remember how to do it a week later or so if it's not in my normal routine.

My short-term memory is terrible. If I'm asked to do something, then interrupted or asked to do something else, that's it. Gone. Fortunately I have a "procedural" kind of mind, so I get things done at work by having long, detailed "todo" lists, and documenting everything I do.

My long-term memory is fine though.

I also have a hard time remembering to do something later. For example, if I am in the middle of something, you can't tell me to do something and then tell me to do it when I am done with what I am doing. I had this problem at one of my jobs and it always got me into trouble and then I would get upset with myself. I always mentally beat myself up over it and I tried to tell my office clerk this trouble I have and how I needed to be reminded and I will do it but he wouldn't listen. His excuse was he was too busy and told me to just write it down. I would but then I would forget to look at my note pad. It doesn't take more than a few minutes to beep me on the radio and remind me to do it and I will do it NOW so I won't forget.

Isn't that more of an OCD thing than a forgetful thing

I have a great long-term memory and a pretty good working memory, the only weird memory quirk I have is when somebody asks me what I did yesterday, I can never remember. The memory is there and it will come to me later, but it's like my brain says "ok, we're done with Tuesday, let's file that away" and then on Wednesday I can't access it :? . It gets embarrassing sometimes because it's a pretty standard conversational question, and people look at me very strangely when I say I can't remember  .

LOL...I tend to forget where I parked the car today; I tend to remember where I parked it yesterday, though.

I'm quite forgetful. I think it has to do with my ADHD. It's hard to focus on something long enough to make it into my long term memory.
