I know I am unpopular when I receive birthday cards from my parents and brother but only 3 cards from people outside the family

I turned 27 today

I have never received a card from outside the family,

I got a get well card from a church once and a "where the hell are you at" card from my last church when I left despite the pastor telling me to leave but I have never received a birthday card from anyone other then my parents. My brother has never brought me anything and has banned me on social media and told me his life would be better if I jumped off a bridge.

I think you are doing pretty good, happy birthday.

Think positive - you actually received 3 cards from outsiders. I think that's a lot. Most people can't even find the time these days to send ecards. I only get cards from family. I used to make my own cards for people, but they just didn't appreciate it much, so I stopped.

Oh, Happy B-day. I don't celebrate my b-day anymore since I'm 29 and holding indefinitely.

I wouldn't worry, Jamesy. I'd rather even my relatives didn't acknowledge it - it's a matter of perspective. Happy birthday though!
Last time I cared about popularity I was a child. I learned the lesson well to dismiss it and have, since. I was at a church youth group I attended at the time because a Christian friend had asked me. There was an exercise where each person had a piece of paper passed around, and all the others would write something nice about the person on the paper, but without being allowed to see what anyone else wrote. I have always tended to wear hats and / or sunglasses even as a child so was wearing a large hat at the time.
Nearly everyone left my paper blank, or simply wrote "nice hat."
Everyone else had whole sheets full of compliments and positive things about them. I was the only one with a blank sheet.
Since then, popularity or the approval of other people has faded in importance until I don't even consider it as an adult, and I don't worry about it. It was quite illuminating / liberating actually.

I can't get a passport because it requires a friend to be a reference.

I once found out that, my friends were actually my enemies.
