Oh, then it's only a matter of time to gain seven more months and it'll be in December again :jester:

I know, and I hate that.

In my local supermarket they put out the Christmas aisle late September, right after the "back to school" stuff" all gets sold. The Christmas stuff is all out even before the Halloween stuff!

Only just now they've devoted a small section of the Christmas aisle to Halloween stuff.

If I ran the store it would be this:

Our schools go back in September, so the Back to School stuff should be out in the second week of August through mid-September.

THEN the Halloween stuff from late September through October.

THEN after Oct 31st, the Christmas stuff. That still gives them almost two months of Christmas selling.

We should just change Halloween to Hallowistmas and be done with it. Ask the trick-or-treaters to sing us a carol before we hand out the candy. Dress up like Santa or an elf.

I don't really mind how early the Halloween stuff gets put out, though, because Halloween is awesome. But seeing Christmas stuff next to skeletons and grim reapers is a little macabre. Seems the more people complain, the more likely they do whatever it is we're complaining about.

The world is probably going to end in a few more months, so maybe they want to sell the stuff as soon as possible. But then what would be the point?

I don't mind if they put out the Halloween stuff early either, it's the early Christmas that really gets my goat.

It takes away from the actual season because if the "season" lasts for three months, how is it special anymore? Christmas is ONE DAY, but we have to be surrounded by the paraphernalia of it for three months nowadays. Commercialism gone mad.

One good thing about this is that people can't justify their waiting until the last minute to do their Christmas shopping by saying, "Wow it sure snuck up on me this year."

You're right, it's a little ridiculous I did once see Christmas in July sales for Christmas items.

My local Walmarts have the Christmas stuff out mere feet away from the Halloween decorations, which are themselves near that leftover summer items.

I want to get through Halloween before I see the Xmas stuffs, is that too much to ask for?

Even worse is some TV scheduling. In the UK, the equivalent of "basic cable" channels will freely run Christmas movies at random times all year long!

And then, very often when Christmas actually comes, they either run repeats of those movies or don't run them at all and have nothing left that's new to show. It's infuriating!

They do the same with Halloween, show random scary movies "seasons" in the middle of July, then have nothing new to air whatsoever when Halloween actually arrives. UK tv planners are screwed up.
