My cat doesn't really have a name. Bit of an odd story. The person that gave him to me wanted to call him one thing, I wanted to call him something else. We never really agreed. So I just call him whatever comes to mind at the moment. He seems happy enough with this arrangement.

Yes, Samantha lived 20 years, 4 months. I hope my current cats all achieve long lives as well.

I've had several generations of cats (country boy), and often we refer to them as "that cat", "the stupid one", and such. Some that I named include the second generation "Alpha-female" Myzak, my favourite pet Zelda of the 3rd generation, and 4th generation Sweif (formerly Grymma, changed when her "eyebrow"-spot became less apperent as she grew and focus shifted to her long tail).

Another long time cat lover here. My parents had their first cat, Tweety, before they had me. She was three years old when I was born. Samantha was my cat. I now have nine cats, four indoors and five feral cats. The neighbor cats also come frequently to our house.

The names of my family's cats are Kally, Scamper, Autumn, and Piper. However, if we got another female cat, I would name her Midna after the little character in "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess".

I tend to lean towards unusual names for my pets, often ones after TV or movie characters.
I currently have two cats, Clara and Ianto.
In the past, my family has had cats named Spock, Data, Killer, Phoebe, Blossom, and Trouble.

If I got a male Siamese I'd name him Giovanni. For obvious reasons.

If I ever had a Russian blue boy kitty, I'd name him "Deni." Anastasia or Ekaterina for a girl.
