Rubik's cube, another one tried without success. It''s designed to drive you insane with frustration. Apparently there's instructions on how to solve the Rubik's cube. https://uk.rubiks.com/blog/how-to-solve-the-rubiks-cube

I had a brain fart just reading stage 1 of those instructions. If I had gone further pieces of brain matter would have stuck to the laptop screen!

Interestingly, I just saw a news story that claimed a 1 second record for solving the cube. I wasn't able to read the details at the moment (and don't see it now), but if true that's astonishing. I'm guessing there was some kind of catch to how that was accomplished (and by whom) - maybe a computer?

I was in 5th grade when Rubik's Cubes first became popular. I never got more than a couple of sides solved, although a girl in my class was able to complete it in a relatively short period of time after reading a book about it. It might be time to try it again!

A new world record was set a few days ago in a stupid 4.74 seconds. My thought process for picking the cube off the table takes longer

I've been trying to complete more than one solitary side of a Rubik's Cube since 1980!

I even purchased a paper "solution" for 50p, but I, nor anybody else that I knew, could make any sense of it.

I now only keep a Rubik's Cube around as an ornament next to the tv.

I can completely solve a Rubik's cube... It's not that difficult it just takes a lot of practicing to get the algorithms in your fingers. After that it's just like riding a bike, takes no mental effort at all.

algorithms are the key.

Heard earlier today my this "Reader and Righter"

It was quite a coincidence to find this thread a few hours later.

I couldn't care less about solving Rubik's Cube. It's not like doing so is going to bring world peace or give Trump terminal brain cancer.

Actually, I do have a solution to Rubik's Cube. It's called Lostonearth35's Hammer.

*SMASH!*

I can't do any types of puzzle solving like that. I like putting together jigsaw puzzles (which take me a while) but not any of that other stuff.

I remember trying to solve it and one time, my little sister moved all the stickers around on it.

I wore the stickers off of 2 Rubik's cubes when I quit smoking solving it over and over to keep my fingers busy. I consider myself fast, but no where near record speeds (under 90 seconds.)

I cannot do rubiks cubes. I can do the first couple things of the algorithms but after that I just get in tangle.
