Considering there was just a 1% difference in the popular vote (48% Clinton - 47% Trump) I guess that makes Trump pretty popular too.

By the way, it was the independent voters who put Trump in office. The core Democrats outnumber the core Republicans by about 1.4 to 1. the only way a republican can win national office is if the independents vote along with the Republican core.

Trump had the highest negative ratings of any major party nonimee in history, Hillary the 2nd most negative ratings.

Hillary is liked and looked up to by a decent amount of older women who like her came from the "Mad Men" era of gender relations through second wave feminism having to fight every step of the way.
