There seems to be about a 20% difference between my actual age and the age I associate myself with. I don't know if anyone else is the same, but imagine feeling 15 on your 18th birthday. Or 17 for your 21st. I moved out of my dad's home at 27 and I definitely didn't feel older than 23. Even today I feel more like 29 instead of 36. Is anyone/everyone else like this?
Yes I am.

But even at 20% below my actual age I'd still be an adult.

Years ago, in my 40s, I took a test to measure my maturity and it said I was like a 28 year old. That must have been purely by virtue of my educational achievement, because I didn't have any of the other markers of adulthood. Now I drive, do things and go places by myself. If I took the test today, I would probably be somewhere in my thirties, although I am far less advanced than a real 30-something person. I won't catch up to "typical" people my age because I started too late, but I will still work on it.

It must be nice to be that mature.
