'The Vault' Is a New Hotel Designed to Accommodate and Hire People With Autism

Quote:
The Vault, owned and operated by the St. Camillus Care Group, is one of the first hotels of its kind. In the United States, there are “autism-friendly” hotels and hotels committed to hiring people on the spectrum, but there are no establishments designed specifically for hiring or housing people with autism.

.....i'll try to be very quit, to disturb no one, 'normal' hotels close because they can't keep up with costs or they become part of big entities, parallel to much other businesses,
with extra funds, these special jobs get set up but disappaer when subsidizing stops, often you see a deliberate destruction of workers rights along with that:
....eg, a business changes name (gets bought) and lets of all the employed and then hire subsidized disabled or longterm-unemployed, but only for the time there's extra money to have with that, so that round of diet got rid of permanent workers with rights, to replace them with cheaper workers with unstable conditions, with your taxes to make it happen smoothly

bountyhunters work often in offices and in gouvernments :

so you see a city set up 'workparticipation' for disabled and other cases, where people must work for their ss or something, but not being payed or having rights of workers, easily prone to being bullied by the outsourced managements' petty behaviour&securitycontrol
so this whole or half private undertaking, gets free labor plus the money to teach them to behave and once in the moneypumping business sky's no more the limit

at the same time gouvernments get presured into technological depenses, instead of spending on jobs,
lets get distracted by fake 'good' news
cheers!!

If the above actually happens at this hotel you can write back saying "I told you so". Until then all it is you assuming neferoius intent based upon past actions by other people

That's interesting. I think with a hotel it would be very difficult to run mainly by disabled people. It needs to be organised, not like a small garden centre or a cafe.

I think there would actually be more misunderstandings between autistic guests and staff than if the staff were NT. We can't read emotions in the same way that NTs can.

I think it's a great idea. It's about time they find ways for autistic people to get employment. I hope the rest of the world follows suit.

I have heard of that program and the one by Microsoft and a few other companies. That is what it is, a few companies not the rest of the world. It is newsworthy because it is unusual. What I like about this program is unlike most it is not geared towered the STEM and highest intellegence part of the spectrum.

True, those companies aren't the whole world but they're in the world. They're also doing this in several different countries including America, Australia and countries in Europe. They're attempting to expand the program. Their goal is to employ a million ASD people around the world. They're already well into the thousands.

Yes, they're in IT (STEM) but geared towards the highest intelligence? Not at all. They let me in after all.

Yes, some a few of the guys on our team are real geniuses but they also have aspies of merely normal intelligence like me.
