Do most people here find this song offensive?

I might just be overly sensitive to this kind of thing, but I didn't like this song. They were just using autistic traits as a thing for people to laugh at ("when you look at me do you see a man or just a bunch of cylinders"). The "autistic guitar solo" wasn't funny either, it was just making fun of our tendency towards repetition. The "down syndrome" part at the end was offensive to both us (implying that we have intellectual disabilities) and to those with down syndrome, as it was just using them as a platform to get laughs. Neurological disabilities don't deserve to be boiled down to stereotyped and insensitively discussed symptoms. People forget there are human beings behind the labels.

Joking about oneself, being autistic is ok in my opinion, but poking fun at people because they are, seems done more out of malice. Our ways and perceptions should not be viewed negatively or less than.

There is no "overly sensitive", I asked your opinion, so thank you for giving it honestly.

I'm not really the "autism jokes" police, but I imagine others will be offended. It's not really a light, innocent song about everyday something.

then don't. I was just curious what others thought.

It is not important enough to worry about or watch if it is upsetting.

Funny? Not really, Offensive? Meh.
Comediens make fun of people and thier foibles, that is thier job.
The tune was light hearted not mean spirited

There so much really nasty stuff said about us everyday, worrying about a comedy skit is not worth it.

I didn't care for it at all. The music was annoying and that part about Down syndrome was disgusting.

The 'autistic guitar solo' made me laugh, I thought that was hilarious. The rest was... A fairly ignorant man, armchair diagnosing his girlfriend with autism and Down Syndrome. (But in a 'nice' way? It was odd.)

I personally didn't feel offended, I just shrugged it off as 'what two people in a relationship say to each other is their business'. But I didn't feel that his message was 'poignant', or 'enlightened', really just... ignorant and dumb.

There are more important things for us to worry about than an obscure song by an obscure band from ten years ago.
