The way I smoke is pretty strange to my other smoking friends who really seem to need cigarettes almost every day (usually - every day). I smoke 1-2 cigarettes with my friend almost every week (school term only - she picks up my little one from school one day a week), then I don't smoke at all, then I may have one with somebody else, but I just don't smoke much on my own. Sometimes I can go months without a cigarette and then suddenly buy a pack and smoke it in 3 days, then no more for months again. They just don't have that addictive pull for me although I enjoy a nicotine hit and I keep coming back to them if I feel like it.

Once I even smoked a whole pack of 20s in one night and the next day I felt really bad and didn't want to smoke for ages after that.

It's interesting looking at the poll, i'd have expected it to be a lot closer than that. Unless people who do smoke are hesitant to vote, or don't consider their smoking to be smoking.

It would be interesting to know the ages of voters to see if it's an age thing , you are definately not down with the kids if you smoke these days.

In the 1960s, EVERY adult, it seemed, smoked. And drank at least beer.

I have enough problems without smoking, drinking, or doing drugs to do any of those things.

I smoked a pack a day for thirty years. I quit ten years ago.

Nope, never will, and I loathe being within it's circulating presence (aversion to second-hand smoking) alongside it's malevolent putridness.
