I am 36 and male and would never look at my facial hair when i shaved, i finally let it grow out and noticed white on my chin, i panicked like i found a lump on me or something! I have chest hair and panick about when i find my first gray hair there, i shave my chest cause of it, and even worry when my pubic hair starts to gray, its been 2 months since i found the hairs and have been ocding about it ever since, having panic attack type feelings I just wandered if its normal for autistic people to obsess about things like this, do you guys fanatically obsess about things like this, or do you even obsess about graying like me, its driving me nuts, it seems irrational to think like this, but its like i can't help it, is this normal for asd people

I'm actually the other way around, I think.

I've yet to find a grey hair, but whilst friends my age are using hair dye to cover up their grey hairs, I'm a big believer in aging gracefully and naturally so I won't be doing that.

I'm paranoid about gray hair, even though I'm only 23. My mom started going gray at 17, and my sister at 20. I've never found one, but I usually will color my hair with dye (even though I hate it) just to be safe.

I like having gray hair, before people would think I was really, really young.

Most people obsess about grey hair, so it's a human thing.

I guess not because I already have a few grey hairs and doesn't bother me.

But it's normal for autistic people to obsess over things and autistic people don't like change.

I started seeing gray hairs when I got haircuts during my 30s. It didn't faze me too much.

I really started "going gray" in my very late 40's. I'm 56 now, and more than half gray. If I were grow a bear, it would be gray-white.

I don't think it's an "autistic" thing to worry about gray hair.

Agreed. I have noticed this around my temples. I started out pulling the hairs out but you can only keep that up so long without going bald! I wouldn't go dying it or anything. Seems strange that people start going grey in their 20's and 30's or even younger, when it's so strongly associated with ageing.

Most people dislike getting grey hair, that's a normal thing, and it's not abnormal to get obsessive about them.
I hate the few grey hairs I have. I'm used to being seen as much younger than I am, and I do not appreciate them at all. I'm not obsessed though. Yet.

I know what you meant, but now I can't stop picturing you raising bear cubs. :-D

I don't obsess with gray hair. I don't mind having them. And I don't have a lot of them yet.
Granted, I'm a young adult with low stress levels, and I don't have the trait it in my genes.
