I just saw a link (from Fox News urk) about Autism Treatment Center of America. A friend seems interested in it; can anyone tell me anything about it?

Barry Neil Kaufman and Samahria Lyte Kaufman developed their home-based program, Son-Rise, for children with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Son-Rise ). Their organization, is the Autism Treatment Center of America ( http://www.autismtreatmentcenter.org/ ). The ATCA store offers books and videos to "cure" autism.

Jim Sinclair and many other autists have written that they don't need to be cured. I agree with them.

What's it for? If it's for things like severe meltdowns (which cause self harm and harming others; different from screaming and yelling), then I think they are needed. But if it's for more minor things such as asociality, then it has no purpose.

A later read the website in a bit more depth. It looks like snake oil salesmen to me.
