I educated myself on the Crimean War. It was mentioned in a book and being American I knew little about it.

It took place in the mid 1850s, in which the Russian Empire under Tzar Nicholas I attempted to expand into the Middle East and Southern Mediterranean at the expense of the then crumbling Ottoman Empire. The Turks had Great Britain, France, and Sardinia on their side and won a war that was more politics than battles. The Russians of the time were inept at diplomacy.

I enjoyed five guys in my bedroom, then took a bubblebath with Ella Fitzgerald.

edit: Five Guys

Through an entire day of work, I managed to clear out and hoover a quarter of the living room where I have literally not seen the carpet in two years.

Borderline. It's not that I want to keep all this stuff, more that I'm so chaotic that the useful stuff ends up mixed in with literal rubbish.

I entered many contests today - now it's exactly 50 ones that I'm impatiently awaiting the announcement of the results of which and... tomorrow it's going to be as many as 16 contests the results of which will be announced :D   I hope I will manage to win something cool :D

Figured out some stuff that has been bothering me for a year and a half. Not happy findings, but at least I have an explanation.

Because I am a huge nerd, today I started compiling a list of all known variants of the "Morris" group of traditional board games from across the world and throughout history. There are a lot. So far I have collected 40 names and 12 different sets of rules for 3 Men's Morris. Also, 12 names and 8 different sets of rules for 9 Men's Morris. I haven't tackled the 6- and 12-man boards yet, or the really strange Mongolian ones.

I got out the chain saw and wacked down the trees, bushes, etc. blocking my view of the pond. Then I went into the water and used the chain saw again to cut down the severely large water weeds, one that gets tough trunks 6-8 inches thick.

I'm almost finished making my brother's Christmas gift, which has likely taken about 100 hours so far.

*faints*
