In the wake of my Mom's death, I've decided to make the grieving process a little easier by trying to pursue new interests (presumably to fill the void left by the person's passing). I have listed three of these interests/hobbies below:

1) Expanding my culinary skills

2) Starting a podcast

3) Getting into stand-up comedy by attending (what else) open mic sessions at a nearby comedy club.

This has been met with encouragement among Facebook friends; what says WP?

Sounds cool, NYAspie! :)

1) Expanding my culinary skills

I enjoy cooking too, it makes eating so much more adventurous.

2) Starting a podcast

Wow! That sounds impressive. What topic do you have in mind?

3) Getting into stand-up comedy by attending (what else) open mic sessions at a nearby comedy club.

I once performed a stand-up comedy routine at a Star Trek convention as part of their masquerade contest, where you have three minutes on stage to portray anyone you want. So I portrayed one of Gilda Radner's characters from Saturday Night Live ... Miss Emily Litella. Lots of fun, and I achieved my goal of getting laughs and applause. 8)

What kind of routine are you thinking of doing?

I think it's excellent. I bet your mother would have loved what you're doing now.

From "up above," I can conceive that she is beaming with pride.
