The Kmart near me closed recently. I miss the store.

We don't even have a Kmart in this country to miss.

I've been missing K-Mart for about 20 years now. They had the best prices on CDs and yarn. I think I also bought a couple exercise machines there in the 90s.

Looks like the nearest Kmart to where I live is 35 miles away.

They are still everywhere here, and have been getting better. They've been very popular for the last few years, and have their own Facebook groups where people post photos of rooms they've decorated in things they bought there.

Are they closing in other countries?

I liked K-Mart when I was younger. I could find my favorite sections, the book and record departments, with ease. The clothes fit me exactly right. Clothing in most other stores made me look like I had no arms because the sleeves were so long. Now, I don't even see books or music anywhere in the store and the clothing mostly consists of drab patterns or T-shirts with slogans, some of them tacky, written on the front.

I was never a fan, but I have a few good memories from long ago. I remember eating at one with a cafeteria, and feeling like it was a treat. Also, skipping school to hang at the nearby Kmart and local coffee shop.

Not at all (I prefer Target).

All the Kmart stores around where I grew up had coin operated merry-go-rounds in front of them and always smelled like popcorn, red licorice, and Icees. I don't remember anything else about them.

We still have them here too (in the Northeast US). I used to work at one and I miss my job there, I used to fold clothes and stock shelves. It was a great job, I only left because I broke my foot and needed surgery. I still shop there a lot, I prefer it to Walmart. I like Target too, they have good deals on food and electronics.

The food was one thing that I never really liked. I didn't like the popcorn smell and I got sick one time from the cafeteria food.

We didn't go there a whole lot but we went there sometimes. Now we have have to go to WalMart even more often cuz there is no other store like it.
