The 2017 NOVA Employment Focus on Ability Short Film Festival asks filmmakers to “focus on the ability” of people with a disability.
Senior students at Evans High’s learning assistance faculty, a unit for students with autism, worked together to write, direct, shoot and edit the short film, Jake: a Support Story.
The five-minute mockumentary tells the true story of a young man with high functioning autism looking back at a difficult school environment during which he was severely bullied before moving to Evans High.
