I'm from Poland, i once talked with my friend about medicine and biology it's on of my special interest.
We talk about one specific cartoon, this cartoon is about human body, it's not Polish but French Cartoon, it's deal about functioning of human body, it's very scientifically accurate, but still very gentle and tactfully explained, Ideally for children from 5 to 18 years old could say. It was one of my favorite, and still is even trough i'm not target audience of it, and it's part of boarder series.
It's called "Once Upon a Time... Life"
But my friend said he rather pass first episode about "birth"
I was joking, and I said (did you tell your son to believe he was born with "immaculate conception"?)
My friend felt offended for a while , but then I both joked about it, and I wonder if my sometimes unequivocal sense of humor is not the result of my autism (Asperger's Syndrome)

Well, autism/aspergers does come with difficulties in social intelligence; humour (and determining apropriateness of jokes) is part of that, so yes, we are more prone to making inappropriate jokes

I thought it was a funny joke but if you friend is religious he may have taken offense due to the religious connotations. You should really know your audience If you make a joke relating to religion.

I wish I had a pound for every "hilarious" joke I've ever made which has been met with an embarrassed silence.
Same here!

as you've quoted hilarious is subjective ,but if I had a pound for every 'hilarious' joke I think I'd have about £10,980.50 ( the 50p was because I couldn't finish said 'hilarious' joke because I was laughing too much )

That's a common joke, and it's nothing particularly offensive. Actually, to Catholics, the funniest thing about it is that it doesn't make sense at all. The common misunderstanding of the term is that the "immaculate conception" is Jesus, Who was born of a virgin. In reality, it's actually meant to refer to the Blessed Virgin, who was conceived without original sin but had two biological parents. With that knowledge, there's nothing to be offended about, and it's actually a good opportunity to correct a common misconception about Catholicism. If a Catholic is really offended by that joke, they actually don't know much about their own religion.
