If you are planning to go to college, many universities have thriving shooting-sports teams. I have known many who got so good that they received scholarship money.

I have 3 pistols (paintball, 22 cal, and 9 mm), 1 shotgun (12 gauge), and 3 rifles (BB, 22 cal, and 5.56 mm). I also own more than 7 types of hammers, saws and wrenches.

The 5.56 makes your ammunition choices more affordable. 8)

Cleaning them must be a bear sometimes. Maybe not, you only have one bolt carrier to contend with. Thankfully, my SIG Sauer M400 is machined in such a way that nothing in the carrier can be mistakenly assembled. Nice!

I have other guns beyond the AR platform. But I do own a few of them in various setups, including two Sig M400 (one is a SBR). The one in my avatar is a FN15 Tactical.

Yikes, that is a lot of cleaning! I chose the M400 because of its carbine size, but the SBR seems even more tailored to my size (5'7").

I would be a danger with a gun with my fine motor skills issues. Any situation that would require defending myself would usually involve the ability to adopt to a sudden change of circumstances which I am not adept at either.

Apart from the self-defense aspect of firearms, there exist rifles which can be "triggered" with just a puff of air like the way that Christopher Reeve used to drive his wheelchair safely. The shooters of these rifles are reportedly quite accurate, and even compete against others.

Never say never.

So I live way out in the boonies, and on a farm. When I was younger I got my hunting license because my dad wanted me to. I've been very against getting a gun my whole life and left leaning especially on gun control issues.
Recently I've realized I really need a gun to protect my animals though and bought my first gun, a Marlin Model 25n, a bolt action .22. This may sound rude and I apologize to anybody if this offends you but personally I still feel we need better gun control and I am diagnosed with aspergers but I'm high functioning since I've had years of therapy. I don't know if I feel others who have aspergers should be able to purchase guns because some people I've met and seen on here seem very unstable.. that's just my personal opinion.

I don't live in the US. I don't have a gun. I've never owned a gun, and I have zero interest in guns. And that's all there is to it.

Unless you count the glue gun I use for making crafts. You can burn yourself pretty bad with the hot glue if you're not careful, but I don't think anyone's ever died from one.
