Don’t piss where you eat. Most companies have policies for immediate firing if you do anything to make them look bad even on your personal time. These players(employees) are making their company look bad on company time. Just another millionaire rich experience us peasants can’t have. If I protested at my job tomorrow I’d be forced off the premises and fired.

I'm actually going to agree with you ... sort of. You can be fired from a job for bravely protesting. This is one of the main reasons why capitalism sucks.

Sadly, even these protests are infected with mainstream "liberalism". According to the mainstream "liberal" doctrine of MSNBC, black pride is good, but socialism is bad ... for some reason.

These black protests aren't bad. It is true that worker's protests are often supressed by limousine "liberals", but this doesn't necessarily mean that black power is a bad thing.

The opposite seems more likely.

The NFL (taking the NBA with it) becoming a nest of pinko liberal multicultural bomb throwing radicalism, while increasingly the flag waving Nativist Tea Partyists take refuge in the bastion of NASCAR!

But that conflict between NASCAR and the NFL/NBA is trivial.

Sheeple! Open your eyes to the real threat!

What really matters is major league baseball.

For decades baseball has been a tool of the....the space aliens!

Wake up!

What two earth shaking things happened in America in the summer of 1947?

1)Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in baseball by joining the Brooklyn Dodgers.

2) Private pilot Kenneth Arnold saw the first flying saucers in the skies of Idaho. Later that summer a saucer crashed in Rosewell New Mexico.

Coincidence?

Consider this:

When Americans today get abducted by flying saucer aliens what species of alien is the most commonly reported perpetrator?

Answer: "The Greys"

What was the name of Colored League Team that Jackie Robinson left when he joined the Brooklyn Dodgers?

Answer:"The Hampstead Grays"

He was a "Gray". And the Grays/Greys are still using major league baseball as their tool to rule America!

2)

There in lies the problem. No one is saying they can't have their little protest. What people are saying is that its disrespectful and unprofessional, and very petty. I don't think they should be fired for it. But they should have some suspension, since its causing division with fans and the team. Its not positive at all.

No more disrespectful than that american flag shirt you're wearing....

Its just the same with the statue purging. What is next? All American Football! After all its "racist". but not exactly. The progressive liberals are socialists and NFL is too all American, and represents capitalism and team spirit. They want to cause the protests to make fans angry so they'll stop coming to the games . The sports teams will lose money. Then they can shut down the NFL completely and blame "Trump supporters".

Do you even have the slightest understanding of why those players kneeled during the anthem? And no, it has nothing to do with wanting to destroy the NFL.

4 U.S. Code § 8 - Respect for flag wrote:
....(d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker’s desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general.
(e) The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way.
(f) The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling.
(g) The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.
(h) The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.
(i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown.
(j) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart.
(k) The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.

overuse of any symbol naturally leads to dilution of the meaning and impact of that symbol. in that regard, why should the american flag be any different?

I'm not even a football fan, (or Sports for that matter), but I believe that it is an American past time that the cultural liberal elites are going after.

Pro Football is really nothing more than entertainment. That being said, when the footballers are taking a knee for the Anthem, they are excercising their right to free speech. I don't agree with their viewpoint at all, but I fully support their right to continue to on with what they are doing.

Anybody who disagrees with this and supports their disbarment from the game for excercising their right to free speech should seriously consider the ramifications of their support for the suppression of free speech, due to the fact that such suppression will, after a while become the norm, and they may find themselves suppressed at some point as well, with nobody to turn to.

Those laws mean taking a flag and making it into clothes. Not printing fabric with parts of the flag on it.

As it’s been pointed out free speech is only from the government. The nfl isn’t the government it’s a private organization and can supress people as much as they like on their time and property. That’s why my work can tell me don’t talk politics or get fired.
Business are about making money not free speech

Just as a private business is free to allow such free speech demonstrations.

And citzens can express their opinions on the matter.
NFL ratings are at a all time low and dropping. How long do you think the owners will take a hit to their bank account before they say stop?

1) Attacks on other groups are not allowed; criticising "liberalism" or "conservativism" is fine, but not "liberals" or "conservatives".

2) User has made a large volume of "culture war" threads in recent months, breaking the "pushing an agenda" clause.

3) As well as the dodgy foundation, there have been dodgy comments by users on both sides of the divide (although of course some on both sides have tried to be constructive).

Consequently, thread locked.
