Internet memes. Technically they've been a thing since the internet's been publicly accessible, but the 2010s were when they really took off.

A society that sexualizes women too much.

Related to the above zero-sum game mentality
Social media becoming a way of life.

Nemo dying, no more pets in my life, depression, deep grief (particularly 2010-2013)

2012-13: Self doubt unlike any I have ever felt, loss of confidence, feeling dumb, inferior
about the same time: something akin to a midlife crisis

the 2010's will never be a favorite of mine

sorry for being such a downer but that is the first thing to come to mind...

(((Skilpadde)))

I know how you feel. The last of my pets, C.C., passed away last week. I don't think I will have any more pets for a long time.

I once heard not long ago that people aren't getting more stupid, we're just more aware of stupid people now because of the internet and social media. But that's too much to hope for. Stupidity is a highly contagious, terrible disease that started sometime in the mid-90's and is now a pandemic. That's why people don't care about the hurricanes or wildfires but McDonald's stops making some worthless sauce and they're in an uproar, they believe any tripe that politicians force down their throat, they care about overpaid "celebrities" with no skill or talent than the people they actually know, and think the only way to solve problems is killing each other in war.

That is what the 2010s were and are. I can't stand it anymore.

Rampant malignant narcissism... and the normalization of abusiveness beyond even my cynical capacity to imagine.
