Trump's pick for ambassador to NZ - please take him back USA

Instead of choosing a diplomatic appointee (as has always happened in the past with the USA ambassadors to NZ, one of the USA's main allies) Trump sent a friend of his with no diplomatic track record, but he landed here with lots of PR about how great he was.

We don't want him Trump

Oh dear

Based on Mr Brown's past track record I'd recommend NZ mums lock up their daughters. Trump really has poor judgement with his appointees...

The USA relies heavily on its spy bases in New Zealand, which New Zealand allows them to have here rent free as part of the Five Eyes alliance. However, this could radically change in the future, given the way Trump's soap opera is going and insult of sending someone with a history like Brown's. Soap opera indeed, Trump would be safer confined to something like Aaron Spelling productions.

Yep, we provide the yanks Pine Gap free of rent...they use it to spy and stuff

I remember Scott Brown very well from when he was in office. He was a loud, overbearing pr*ck who'd shout down his constituents who dared disagree with him. I was very proud of those same constituents who stomped a mud hole into him by voting in Warren the following election.

He came here with all this PR buildup, which never happens with any real diplomat, and it was fishy even then. You would have thought from the PR that this guy was a mix of superman and benevolence, but lacking modesty..
