Yes. When you're vegetarian it means you don't eat any animals including fish and it means you never make exceptions and eat it "just this once". If you make exceptions or you insist that you only eat a little bit of meat or only eat fish, then you are not really vegetarian. That's like saying you are near-vegetarian for health reasons, but you eat a steak only once a day.

I've never understood why my mother eats fish but says she's vegetarian, either. For the most part, those instances where she does are extremely few and far between, but they're still exceptions that go against the whole ethos of the word.

People who say they're vegetarian but still eat fish really make me angry, since fish isn't *actually* a vegetable.
I'm pure vegetarian though, woop.

I think that most people that work a lot or have a high metabolism need to eat more meat than vegetables. Some vegetables are good sometimes, but people shouldn't rely on them all of the time. If I did that I would probably starve. I consume probably 4k calories a day.

Why would people think that fish is different than chicken or any other meat? Maybe it's because they are eating food for what they think are health reasons and that fish is more healthy to them so that makes it ok to eat fish and be a vegetarian.

There are two options for vegetarian and vegan in the poll, couldn't one of those be changed to omnivore?

vegan and vegetarian are really different though, and "carnivore" and "omnivore" are used interchangeably in the vernacular when referring to human diets anyway.

I thought vegan and vegetarian were people that ate plants, omnivores ate both, and carnivores only ate meat.

Not sure, i eat meat but only because its fuel and always crammed
into something else so i dont have to see it, dont like the taste or
look of it at all. This seems to get more and more intense the older
i get, ate meat like everybody else as a kid, but my body rejects
it more and more, it just dont want the meat, i react more and more
like what happens when you get poisoned when i eat meat so i
dont know. Everything else is cool, i`ll eat things straight from the
bushes in the woods, no problem, i am a digital natureboy :)

Vegetarian since I was 6 years old, so that means 20 years of no meat. I also don't eat mish or poultry and hardly ever eat dairy. I am 95% vegan actually.

Technicalities determine I am an omnivore. My diet is vegetarian, I can't remember how long I have been one for. I think as long as maybe 15 years at the least.

Can you be a vegetarian if you eat chicken?
Can you be a vegetarian if you eat fish?
Answering yes to these just means you are picky imo
