Computer skills? Ability to figure things out faster? Did grownups tell you when you were a child that you're much smarter than your peers?

people said i was smart but nobody said i was smarter than my peers because i quite clearly am not.

In some areas, yes. In others, no. I have splinter skills but also deficits. It's not an across the board thing.

I don't think I am. I don't seem to have any special talents or skills that NTs don't. I did very well in elementary school and junior high because I had the stereotypical Aspie memory, but I think severe depression has taken that away from me for good.

I would say that I am on the whole. My IQ is been tested at 150 and my memory has been classified as autobiographical, highly accurate and quite extensive. It's a curse really. You can't forget even those traumatic events that you would LIKE to forget.

I look at NTs as if they're nothing but unsophisticated meatheads with their heads firmly implanted inside of themselves. Needless to say, as I've said in these forums many times that NTs bother me in more ways than one.

i think my IQ is 113, but, i wasn't aware i was being tested then, so it might be wildly different.

Nope. I just have debilitating classic autism. I wish I had the superpower version.

Smarter? That's subjective. I'm better at some things, worse at others. There are things that are instinctual and obvious to me that NTs struggle to understand and remember, and there are things that are instinctual and obvious to NTs that I struggle to understand and remember.

I do think I've had a better education than a lot of NTs in my age bracket, but that's primarily a product of my upbringing - so I discount it as simply luck.

I'm the classic "book smart yet little common sense" sort of guy.

Though I've gotten less book smart, and I've acquired a little bit of common sense, over the years.

I'm not so sure that I'm happy that I'm less book smart, though.

I still suck as far as decorating a house and fixing things are concerned.

I too feel like I have become less intelligent. The common sense thing applies to me too, last year I had really bad tooth ache and totally forgot painkillers were even a thing so was in agony for days.

I'm the typical 'spiky profile' type. So in some ways smarter than the average nt , and in other ways not . Like kraftiekortie I suck at decorating and fixing things. Genrally my intelligence for constructional, manual and practical things leaves a lot to be desired.
