Ok, guys and gals, xims and xers........

After reading the thread about why we persist with the morbid routine of dating sites I decided to bother filling out my profile. I have 2 photos and the wording is quite compact. I've learnt that people prefer you learn about them but aren't willing to do the same back to begin with.

https://www.okcupid.com/profile/SkellingtonBoot

Be frank. Be brutal. Be whatever!
But...care to give some feedback?

I'd say this is the last time I'll give OKCupid a genuine shot before my 40's. Hah!

^ This creature was just behind your laptop while you were writing this thread - casting doubt on your success in Okc.

Have to have an account to view it, but based on your posts, I think you’re pretty cool and easy to get along with, with level headed opinions. Best of luck, mate.

Well, TheSpectrum - you are not some cute girl (nor sly), that’s why your thread isn’t getting much attention here.

I've actually been getting some messages. The funny thing is mostly from men.
There was one woman from America and one form nearby so I guess it can't be that bad a profile.
For whatever reason OKCupid decided to list me as bisexual and I only realised that last night LMAO

How awkward.

OKCupid has changed but one consistent is the types of users it attracts. Definitely a nicer bunch than those at POF.

^ Really? I find the same exact girls on both POF and Okc, same people (I wonder why these girls use several dating sites yet they complain about the large number of messages they receive).

I think it's more a cultural difference between where you live and where I live.
When it comes to people from the UK, POF it's full of more chavs (both men and women) whereas OKC seems to lean towards liberals and professionals. They all tend to gravitate towards one another.

Where you're from I guess people do the most logical thing which is try their hand at all the sites to improve their chances.

I’ve noticed the same. Except our chav site is “NZ dating”.

I should have put that in quotes. Was my NZ chav impression.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: It's occurred to me that no one can give feedback on my profile if they don't have an OKC account, so I've copy pasta'd it here:

My self-summary

Looks like they removed the option to put "Cancer" and "Laughing about it" in the same sentence. Killjoys.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently trying my hand as a chef and thoroughly enjoying it! No one has died from my cooking yet and the plates are coming back cleaner than I send them out. Always a good sign.

I'm also reading through some century old books which is part of our local history. I think I'm the only one who's seen them in decades so looking to share my findings on a blog.

Oh yeah, I play pool once or twice a week and go out on the weekends. I'm not the larging-it type, though, I just tend to do my own thing.
I’m really good atedit essay
Dry humour, and turning up for things.
Oh, and reading. Not speed reading, but like retaining info from the books.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

If you like pizza then we're gonna get along just fine.
I like Ridley Scott movies, HR Giger artwork and some guitar rock like Zeppelin Sabbath ZZ and especially Thin Lizzy. If you know some new stuff in this genre please educate me.

And come on, Rick and Morty!!
If you want some ice breakers I'm up to date on Walking Dead, GoT, Mindhunter, most of the Marvel shows.

Six things I could never do without

Hot dinners
Hats
An old fashioned chat
Radio
Books
Somewhere to cook

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Where this -life, humanity- is all going, and what do keyboard warriors do when they're not on Facebook.

On a typical Friday night I am
Out and about.

You should message me if

-You like to take life easy.
-You find happiness in simple things.
-You want to do some quirky day trips.
-Don't mind me using a fat nose smiley in my texts :o)

New Zealanders don’t have Hungry Jacks. And I’m not a chav, thanks.

Yikes. Jesus. I wasn't referring to you. I was impersonating a hypothetical one and talking indirectly.
I get the feeling you thought I was making a joke and hitting on you. I wasn't :? I was merely making a crap joke.

Anyways, I edited my post too late. I figured it would be useful to at least copy the text from the profile to here.
It's above your last post.

I actually thought it was a personal attack. This is why the internet is difficult, no tones. No offence taken.
