Well. I sent a follow request to a very old friend right now. I will post the result. If she doesnt follow me back, I will start to think i'm a hated person.

《tilts head》 Is it okay...? Seriously, anyone who tells you it's NOT okay is not worth listening to. 0 followers is okay. 1M followers is okay. It doesn't really matter.

My IG follower number oscillates wildly. When I travel and update daily with pictures of interesting places, it jumps up into triple figures. Then, when I get home and barely post at all, it dwindles. Right now it's at about 45.

I used to feel stressed and ashamed about low follower counts on socials (like FB in the late 00s, and tumblr in the early 10s), because people equate it with popularity, and by extension, your value as a person. Nowadays I realise how fake and meaningless it all is.

I dunno, OP. You've got two options: learn marketing skills to strategically attract followers, or change your priorities and focus more on quality (i.e. meaningful interactions) than quantity.

Anyone with less than a 100 followers on Instagram needs to be....STERILIZED!

Ha! But is there a time dependency on this? Because we all start with zero...

You are losing sleep over people who don't give one iota about your real well being. Sucks to hear but it's true. If you really wanna be an Insta blogger, treat you account professionally - post only high quality content, get more likes (). But only if you are planning to earn money on it. Otherwise, just delete your IG account and live your life.
