What do we do about spam?

There have been a number of ways of reducing or eliminating the amount of spam over the years. One of the ones that has worked surprisingly well is "Grey Listing". We discussed this in a newsgroup, news.admin.net-abuse.email (often abbreviated nanae), years ago but we figured that the spammers would quickly change their approach to counter the technique. Oddly enough, they didn't do it all that quickly and it is still effective to some degree.
