I don't know which ones are specific to Liverpool or just the north west but here are a few more off the top of my head,

Made up- to be happy with something
Lolly Ice- most other places say Ice lolly
A wool / woolly back someone not from the northwest not from Liverpool or Manchester.

They are all Liverpool sayings.

Both my bosses at work are from Liverpool and they call ice lollies lolly ice.

What about "boss" for when something's really good.

Yeah we do say Boss a lot, we also put the word like in most sentences whether its needed or not.

In Nova Scotia people might ask you "You from here or away?" From here means living in Nova Scotia, while from away means living outside of it. A person born in NS but now living elsewhere but currently visiting is described as being "from away".

Another one is "What's your father's name?" I usually answer by telling people the name of my father *and* mother, thank you very much. :)

A word I am interested in is the word Jasper for a wasp. It can be heard round Sheffield, and other places I think, though never heard it in the North West of England.

Bushy Barnaby is a Norfolk word for a Ladybird, though don't know if it is still used these days. https://english.stackexchange.com/quest ... barney-bee
