we should try this for a american president as well.

Does this sound good to you a cat for president?

In order to be president it would have to be at least 35 years old, and considering that only three recorded instances of a cat living to be that old (and no recorded instance of a cat ever living to be old enough to be able finish a presidential term), its very unlikely you'd be able to find a cat to do it.

Cthulhu or a cat at this point...

I mean we got trump so why not either of those preposterous options?

They might have to waive that requirement....Also I wonder would it still be 'Mr. President' or 'Mr. President kitty'?

If our state and federal judicial systems work well with juries of peers, why wouldn't other government branches and agencies work just as well with individuals who were "selected" to serve in offices other than merely as jurors? Think of state and national lotteries where a citizen's Social Security Account Number could be a ticket to the governor's mansion or the White House on "selection" night, not election night. You, too, could be just a numbered ping-pong ball away from fame and authority.

At least, such a system might yield the occasional benevolent leader who brings prosperity to others, and couldn't possibly give us the long train of abuses that the current system has created through its intentions.

Either Cory Booker or Joe "Lunchbox Joe" Biden. I would love it if Bernie Sanders was just a little younger.

Or Mark Cuban! Too bad Elon Musk isn't a natural-born citizen.

Rumors have been spreading about Kirsten Gillibrand making a bid to be the Democratic candidate for 2020, but nothing has been confirmed as of now.

Not if he picks Ann Coulter as a running mate. Do you *want* flying sharks?

I really want to have a proper election, where people vote for delegates. Let the college pick someone they consider suitable for the job.

I would vote for Warren if the election was tomorrow. Bernie could be in her cabinet or perhaps even VP.
Biden or Harris might be good also.

The GOP needs to die out for falling in line behind Trump and proving twice (again) last year they serve the wealthy and not people.

although I will bet on it never happening in this dimension of reality, an Oprah/Elizabeth ticket would get my vote. O is sounding presidential these days.
