When others make the claim that the Holocaust was Uniquely Evil, I have the eerie impression that is merely a disguised way of making the claim that they think the German people, themselves, as a people, are Uniquely Evil. Basically, a form of group defamation against an entire Nation.
Of course, the question to be posed is: Uniquely Evil in contrast to what? After all, the Soviet Communists and the Chinese Communists actually carried out many of the very same types of military atrocities and crimes against Humanity, that are usually associated with the National Socialists of Germany.
Used to assume that simply by educating my fellows about Communist sins, I could eventually and inevitably put an end to this Uniquely Evil business. Did not go too well, at College, though. Did not seem to get through to many. They seemed to cling to the idea that the Germans are the only truly evil people; the most evil who ever existed.
Perhaps, just perhaps, they were in denial of Soviet and Chinese Communist sins.
