Does anyone have difficulty understanding emoji faces?

I can understand the sad face one, the angry one and the happy one but the others mystify me, I need someone to explain them could this be related to Aspergers?

i always had no real trouble with cartoons but in real life i feel it just doesnt translate as well

Some of them. Ones like :) and :( were pretty obvious to me but for a while I thought that : P meant exhaustion or resignation. It just made sense to me that when you're on the verge of exhaustion your tongue would be hanging out.

The one that confuses me now is the winky frowny face. What does it mean? ;(

I studied emojis in order to learn how to draw facial expressions on my cartoon-characters. It's been pretty helpful in learning to read the body language of real people as well.
Most of them are just exaggerations of actual facial expressions, but some are really confusing. Like the one with the tongue sticking out. I know that it means that it's something silly, or a joke - but no one actually sticks their tongue out when telling a joke, do they?
I still don't get the winky-frowny-face at all.

And what the heck is up with these weirdos?!
