Lancashire folksong relating to the small village of Cockerham. Twenty-five minutes drive from where I'm from.

I listen to a bit of folk, mostly pete seeger and woody guthrie, but mostly when i listen to things in the folk genre it´s folk punk. does that count?

Admittedly I had to look it up, but sounds good to me. Like most music genres there seems to be a fair bit of overlap with other genres.

My recent discover is Rhiannon Giddens. She plays country, blues, and also is a member of an old-time music band Carolina Chocolate Drops. Check them out!

Not sure how I'd failed to discover Catherine MacLellan before now. Love this. I so wish I could sing.

I grew up listening to the Weavers, Pete Seeger, and others. I also discovered for myself Rhiannon Giddens a few years ago and she is totally over the top amazing in her musical talent and emotion behind the music.

Here she is singing "Julie"

Another favorite I found just on following around is: Mandolin Orange:

But my all time favorite for musicians still playing, is Mustard's Retreat. Here is one of their more famous songs.
Motherlode
