If you could magically become fluent in 10 languages that are foreign to you, by this I mean speak and read, what would they be? My native language is English, and I would lean:

1. Spanish
2. French
3. German
4. Russian
5. Japanese
6. Chinese (the main Mandarian dialect)
7. Arabic
8. Italian
9. Hebrew
10. Greek

Fluently?

English would be first choice, because that's what I need the most.

I don't know what else. Maybe Italian next because it's beautiful? Languages like Japanese, German, Spanish and French might be helpful, but I'm not particularly interested.

Do they have to be human languages? If not I'm going with fluent
English
sea turtle
tortoise
terrapin
dog
wolf
fox
octopus

and two left for whatever I decide on later.

Sounds like you may have a special talent for languages. I'm wondering how you learned the other three you are fluent in.

I picked the ones I did because of world importance and being able to read their literature.

I've heard that Icelandic is an odd one. The place was settled by Vikings, and its geographical isolation preserved the old Norse grammar. If you want to hear the language of Eric the Red, Icelandic is the closest living approximation.

1. English. I write it rather well (I think), but I have trouble speaking since I rarely get any real chances to practice it.
2. Japanese. Already studying it, but wouldn't mind learning it faster.
3. Sami. There are actually different... types (?) of this language and three of them are used in my home country as far as I know, so I'd like to know one of those... haven't thought which one.
4. German. I'm the only one in my family who doesn't speak it and it's a little annoying. Plus it's a beautiful language.
5. Spanish. It might be useful.
6. Latin. It might be useful in understanding old texts.
7. Swedish. Honestly I wouldn't be interested in this language but I know it would give me a leverage in getting certain jobs.
8. French. Seems really hard so if I could speak it it would mean I'm awesome. :P
9. Ainu. That'd be cool.
10. Okinawan. That'd also be cool.

I do have to ask: why are people interested in learning Finnish? Is there some reason?

German a beautiful language? Surely you jest!

I had to look up Sami because I didn't know what it was. I'm assuming you live in Northern Scandinavia?

Your written English is fine IMO.
