A big old farmhouse overlooking the bay, with a wraparound porch.

Ideally, somewhere out in nature, but realistically somewhere with decent public transportation since I plan to live alone and doubt I'll ever drive. Absolutely something fairly small, enough room for my dog (and two cats I plan on adopting if I get my own place) to run around and play, but not much more, I don't want a bunch of extra space I don't need. Somewhere to put a nice tall enclosure for a frilled lizard and enough space for a decent-sized habitat for a bearded dragon, probably also several fish tanks - but again, not much more space than I need. Big backyard and decent garden would both be pluses, I enjoy gardening (when I actually get the chance, but most of the time our garden's just full of weeds, and every once in a while I clear out the weeds, but then we don't do anything with it and the weeds just grow back) and would love a good amount of space for my dog and me to play in, at least having somewhere to sit outside and seeing some sort of plant life that's in good shape is a must. Probably all one floor because I don't need the space of additional ones. Being near a decent-sized area of some kind of wilderness would also be ideal, but probably not feasible if I'm going to live somewhere I can get public transportation or walk to most places. Can't think of any other details right now that matter that much to me (unless it was something extreme, like a very long set of stairs to the front door or a house painted bright yellow with bright orange polka-dots or something).

I’d like all white, with relatively few things.

Maybe even a mattress on the floor.

Some great art on the walls.

A nice big yard and a sit-down lawnmower to maintain it.

I like representational art from just before Impressionism.

I like Surrealism—but its constant presence, like the presence of Baroque art, would give me a headache.

Interestingly, “Impression,” for which Impressionism is named, is quite industrial, and very unlike most Impressionism, which strongly emphasizes scenes of Nature.

Yep.

It’s really something how emotion can be expressed in Art—real emotion, not the Grotesque. It takes technical and emotive talent.

I like the Dutch Renaissance, too—bluish shades.

A small but cozy affordable house with plants and cats everywhere and a spot for a garden if I so choose

A floating spire in another dimension.

Hmm. An adobe hacienda style home with a huge courtyard in the middle. In the middle of the desert. I love the desert. I never knew what serenity was until I was standing alone in the middle of the Negev when I was 18. I'm always trying to get back to that sense of peace I've only ever found in the desert. So a place me and my furbabies can run freely in at night with only the stars for company.

Also, speaking of art. I'd love to have some of my favorite artists paintings on the wall of my dream home. Gustave Caillebotte, especially his bridge series, I love all the blue.

Or I'd love a treehouse home in a treehouse village. Kinda like the forest elves in lord of the rings, or even the ewok village was pretty awesome!

^ I love houses with courthouses in the middle! They feel very safe and tranquil.

And I was always a big fan of the tree-house type village in LOTR. :D
