Well there is what you go with politically, after all you gotta register as a democrat or rebublican to vote in primaries. So I picked democrat for that...but I am certainly more of a socialist.

That's not true in all states. In Missouri we are not required to register for a party. We also have open primaries. I can go in and request either parties ballot for the primary.

Sorry to butt in; but, how does that prove that libertarianism is the "dominant political economic system" in the United States? Ideologically, we account for such a small percentage of the population. Many libertarians vote Republican because the Libertarian Party, while growing, doesn't have a shot at winning most of the time.

The United States is by no means libertarian.
U.S. doesn't even rank in the top 10 on any solid freedom indexes.

I don't see the United States having a libertarian future either, unfortunately. My eyes are set on the Cayman Islands or New Zealand, for when I'm done with the U.S.

I think your assumption is:
If I reply to a post, I must be arguing against it...

This is the norm on a neurotypical website where people are addicted to devil's advocacy...
Based on my experience here, there isn't the same machismo/posturing animosity...
I am actually agreeing and supporting Chonos because I like who she is and respect her depth of thinking...

All clear now?...
Ciao...

I had to refrain from voting here, because my political views, such that they are, are all over the place in terms of simple categorisation. I believe in free education, welfare for those who need it, free healthcare, oppose euthanasia and abortion, oppose military adventurism of the kind that the U.S. often engages in, support the people of Russia (NOT Putin, may he rot in hell), oppose "free trade" (which is very different from fair trade), support tariffs, national industries, protectionism, state control of essential services (like electricity, water, prisons), oppose virtue-signalling SJW identity politics, believe you are either male or female (it's simple biology, there is no 'spectrum', because that's patently untrue), and am "theistically-inclined" and believe that online atheists have thus far presented absolutely NO good reasons to accept their nihilistic beliefs about the ultimate nature of what we call reality.

So... what does all of the above make me?
