I am feeling a bit confused lately and not sure if this even falls into LGBT or not as I still consider myself hetrosexual. I am a male in my mid 30's and for the past few months I've become increasingly uncomfortable with having body hair. I am not sure how much of it is about hair but also how I generally never felt comfortable with or fit in with what society generally values as desirable masculine charastercists. Last week on the first warm enough spring day to wear shorts I shaved my legs before wearing shorts for the first time this year. I can not really explain it beyond sayin that I am really enjoying having smooth legs and feel strangly at ease and comfortable when I am wearing shorts now. Is anybody else able to relate to this?

Aye, I do the same.

To be fair though, I have gender issues myself, and my bodyshape has always been a bit off for a male. I'll just say that not even one freaking person around me was surprised when I started doing it. Not sure what to make of that.

I sorta get how you feel though. I dont like how society views this stuff either. I'm absolutely not the masculine sort, and really tired of society having such a bloody problem with that. I honestly feel like I just cant be myself most of the time.

Ugh, that's a whole other rant though.

I'm a woman so I'm coming from a very different place, but I don't the think the fact that you like to shave your legs relates in any case in your sexuality or gender. It's a good feeling sometimes, and you are free do experiment things. In some places or in a different time, it would be the norm for man too. It goes also for all main masculine (or feminine) traits, they are just a convention but you don't need to conform 100% with this.

Just because males don't have to shave their legs doesn't mean they can't. Many males do, especially those who do sports: https://coach.nine.com.au/2016/03/15/14 ... their-legs

Thanks, I'm glad to hear that I am not the only guy that is not the masculine sort.

Thanks, for the supportive reply and I agree that smooth legs are a really nice feeling.

Thanks that is a great article, I had no idea that more men were shaving their legs as time goes on.

I've been shaving my armpits because I hate seeing other guys w/ big bushy armpits, so gross

Sucks though because when it grow back in they get itchy :P

And it's no different from people shaving their Pubes either; some do it for the aesthetic and others do it because they don't like having hair down there and looks more appealing to their sexual partner(s) to boot

Dont shave it smooth, just use an electric trimmer to keep it short and it won't itch.

I'm a heterosexual female, and it always seemed to me that it should be more acceptable for men to remove body hair, because the skin is just cooler in hot weather without it. Doesn't really seem like that factor has much to do with sex/gender.

Maybe a little more controversial/edgy, but I never saw removing (shave, wax, epilate, etc.) hair from "personal areas" as anything sexual, since again, that's an especially warm area!

I'm a woman and where I'm from, having body hair is considered lack of hygiene and disgusting, so I was forced and humiliated to shave almost all body hairs, but I have more testosterone than the average woman, so that increases the growth of hair in my body specially the armpit, legs and pubis.
When women and men see my hair they point me as disgusting and doesn't approach me.
So I just do it because I'm forced to, otherwise, I'd don't even think about it.

My skin becomes a mess from shaving and I don't like the feeling of bald skin on myself.
I trim my leg hair and sometimes bleach what's left of it. In the winter, I often stay with my natural fur. To my surprise, my husband does not mind at all, as long as I'm not prickly.
