I agree though, it can be annoying from the point of view of the customer. As an employee, it also gave me major anxiety too because I was terrified of forgetting the "magic questions" and getting fired.


I'm sure a lot of cashiers hate it as much or more than anyone else.

You can simply say no, chances are the employee does not care....they just have to say that, because the company wants them to, but its just fine to decline. I mean I am living off of SSi income right now, so I am in no position to donate money so I just say no. If I had more money than I would probably donate some I'd like to contribute to some wildlife causes I care about but I simply cannot.

Yeah, I know some places, you also get a bonus if you can get a customer to sign up for whatever it is.

I've also seen places that say "If I forget to tell you about ____, you get one free!"
